Self-Consolidating Concrete (SCC)
Concrete is designed to be as the name suggests. Mechanical consolidation is not required. Additionally, these mixes will flow around corners and distances that normal weight concrete will not. Architectural walls with details requiring crisp lines and consolidation are a perfect application for these mixes. Mixes are designed contrary to typical concrete mixes. Slump is not a gauge, instead they are designed to a specific flow rate. Where typical mixes poured at excessive slumps will segregate, these mixes will move freely and carry the aggregates proportionately with the flow without segregation.
